Vidyajyoti Kadamtala Higher Secondary School, established in 1956, has emerged as a leading educational institution in the Kadamtala block of North Tripura, blending academic excellence with modern infrastructure and sustainability initiatives.

A senior state government official noted that the school has been declared a ‘single-use plastic free campus’, with visible efforts under the Green School Program throughout its premises. 

The campus features clean toilet facilities, a well-maintained garden, and a sports ground catering to students’ recreational and physical activities.

In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the school has incorporated modern learning facilities, including an Atal Tinkering Lab, Smart Classes, Vocational Lab, ICT Lab, library, DNA Club, CRC Center, and the NIPUN program. Security is strengthened through CCTV surveillance, while in-house staff ensure cleanliness and student safety. The institution also provides both cold and normal drinking water, though demand currently exceeds capacity.

The school offers education from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and has recently adopted the CBSE curriculum, which has significantly increased enrollment. Two residential hostels are also operational, accommodating students from distant areas.

The official highlighted the school’s strategic location, noting that the Kadamtala Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Kadamtala Police Station share boundaries with the campus, ensuring quick medical assistance and prompt law-and-order support.
