Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that Seva Paksha has been celebrated every year keeping Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s service to the nation in mind. However, this year, the celebrations are being organised on a special scale to mark his 25 years of public service.
The Chief Minister said this after attending a blood donation camp organised in connection with the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, and served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 years. Later, he became the Prime Minister of the country and has continued to serve the nation. Keeping this in mind, the state government has organised various programmes.
“September 17, the Prime Minister’s birthday, is being observed as Seva Diwas, with several programmes organised across the state. Similar programmes are being held at the district, subdivisional and block levels. At the state-level programme held in the headquarters district on the occasion of Seva Diwas, a blood donation camp was organised, where around 200 people are expected to donate blood,” he said.
The Chief Minister also said that a special programme would be organised at 7 pm to express gratitude to the Prime Minister for his 25 years of service to the people. Lamps will be lit as a symbol of blessings and goodwill for the people of Tripura.
He said that as the Village Committee elections are currently underway, the remaining programmes will be organised after September 28, continuing from September 29 until October 17.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people of Tripura to wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi a long life and extend their blessings to him.
