Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the benefits of development would reach every section of society and no one would be left behind.
The Minister said this while speaking at the 76th Samajik Adhikarita Shivir for Senior Citizens and Divyangjan, organised under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) and Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) schemes of the Government of India, at South Taranagar Gram Panchayat in Mohanpur today.
Highlighting the welfare-oriented approach of the Modi government, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said Prime Minister Modi has emphasised empowerment rather than sympathy for persons with disabilities.
He said the term Divyang reflects the dignity and abilities of persons with disabilities and stressed that they should be supported in becoming self-reliant.
“Social sensitivity and collective responsibility are essential to ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every citizen,” he said.
The Minister said that PM Modi had risen from humble beginnings and had completed around 25 years in public life since becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
He highlighted several initiatives of the Union government, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Minister said Jan Dhan accounts have enabled beneficiaries to receive government assistance directly into their bank accounts, reducing dependence on intermediaries.
"PM Modi also introduced the Ujjwala Yojana for providing LPG connections to women and households and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for improving sanitation and cleanliness", said Minister
The Minister further said that government initiatives have expanded access to housing and drinking water, describing these measures as part of a broader effort to improve the living conditions of ordinary citizens.
He said the government under the leadership of PM Modi has been taking one initiative after another for public welfare and reiterated that development should reach every person, including senior citizens and Divyangjan.
