RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, speaking in Tripura, said that certain “self-interested forces” around the world are trying to exploit India’s diversity to create internal divisions and weaken national unity.

He made these remarks during the Prana Pratishtha and Kumbha Abhishekam ceremony of the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple at Fakira Mura in Mohanpur, West Tripura district.

Bhagwat stated that such forces are aware of India’s growing global influence and, according to him, do not wish to see the country progress in a united manner. He alleged that this leads to attempts to highlight social, cultural, and religious differences in order to create discord.

He further emphasized that India’s diversity—in language, food, customs, and religious practices—has long been a defining feature of the country and should be seen as a source of strength rather than division.

Warning against losing this perspective, he said that misunderstanding or ignoring the value of unity in diversity could lead to internal conflicts that may be exploited by disruptive elements. He urged people to remain alert and spread awareness about maintaining social harmony.

Bhagwat also noted developments in the area, mentioning the establishment of a temple and a school, and expressed that more progress would continue in the future.

He concluded by encouraging people to build inner strength and resilience, saying that challenges are temporary and one must stay steady and committed despite difficult situations.
