Tension gripped Malumura area under Radhakishorpur police station in Udaipur subdivision on Sunday afternoon after Border Security Force (BSF) jawans allegedly assaulted a local resident and his family members.

According to reports, around 3 pm, BSF personnel from the Bagma BSF camp allegedly forced a parked car out of their way while driving through the locality. When the owner of the vehicle, identified as Liton Shil, confronted them over the incident, the jawans reportedly got down from their vehicle and physically assaulted him.

Witnesses alleged that when family members tried to intervene, the jawans attacked the women as well, sparking widespread anger among locals. As villagers rushed to the spot, the BSF personnel allegedly fled the scene after issuing threats.

Three members of the family, including women, were injured and later shifted to Gumti District Hospital for treatment. Following medical attention, the housewife of the family lodged a written complaint against the BSF personnel at the Bagma Police Outpost.

The incident has triggered resentment in the area, with locals demanding strict action against the accused jawans. Police have received the complaint and an investigation is reportedly underway.
