Based on a tip-off, police and the Border Security Force (BSF) conducted a joint operation and rescued 14 cattle from two vehicles. The drivers of the vehicles were also targeted during the operation.

According to the police, they received intelligence that cattle were being illegally transported from the Bhagabantila BOP area under the New Bazar Police Station jurisdiction. Acting on this information, the police and BSF intercepted two vehicles in the area. A search of the vehicles led to the recovery of a total of 14 cattle.

One of the vehicle drivers, identified as Zakir Hossain, was arrested, while the other driver managed to flee. The arrested driver is currently being questioned. The rescued cattle have been secured at a safe location, the police said. Legal proceedings in connection with the case are ongoing.
