Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Banswara on Thursday to launch development projects worth ₹1.22 lakh crore, spanning infrastructure, energy, employment, and welfare across 21 districts of Rajasthan.
A key highlight will be the ₹42,000 crore Mahi-Banswara nuclear power plant, expected to significantly boost Rajasthan’s energy capacity. Modi will also lay the foundation stone for 15 drinking water projects worth ₹5,884 crore, aimed at ensuring safe and reliable supply in 15 districts.
In a major employment push, the Prime Minister will distribute appointment letters to 15,000 recruits for various government positions, including animal attendants, junior assistants, engineers, instructors, and teachers.
Additionally, he will flag off three new trains via video conferencing: the Bikaner–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, and Udaipur City–Chandigarh Express.
The visit, Modi’s 16th to Rajasthan since 2014, will also feature interactions with beneficiaries of the Kusum Yojana, reflecting the government’s focus on clean energy and rural empowerment. Senior leaders, including Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, are expected to attend.
Officials said while ₹1.22 lakh crore projects are linked to Rajasthan, several initiatives will also benefit Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and other states.
