Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate, lay foundation stones, and dedicate multiple development projects worth around Rs 13,430 crore in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. 

The projects span sectors including industry, power, roads, railways, defence manufacturing, and petroleum and natural gas.

The Prime Minister will begin his visit at Srisailam, performing Pooja and Darshan at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam, followed by a visit to Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra. He will then travel to Kurnool to launch the projects and address a public meeting. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has invited PM Modi to speak on the theme ‘Super GST-Super Saving’ as part of the state’s awareness campaign on GST reforms.

Key initiatives to be launched and inaugurated include:

  • Power Transmission: Foundation stone for the Kurnool-III Pooling Station Transmission System Strengthening project worth Rs 2,880 crore, including a 765 KV double-circuit transmission line to enhance renewable energy transmission by 6,000 MVA.

  • Industrial Development: Foundation stones for the Orvakal Industrial Area (Kurnool) and Kopparthy Industrial Area (Kadapa) with a combined investment of Rs 4,920 crore. These hubs are expected to attract Rs 21,000 crore in investments and generate around 1 lakh jobs.

  • Road Infrastructure: Foundation stone for the six-lane Greenfield Highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar (Rs 960 crore) and inauguration of six additional road projects worth Rs 1,140 crore to improve regional connectivity and reduce congestion.

  • Railways: Launch of several railway projects totaling over Rs 1,200 crore, including the Kottavalasa-Vizianagaram Fourth Line, Pendurti-Simhachalam North Rail Flyover, and doubling of key railway sections.

  • Energy Sector: Dedication of the Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline (Rs 1,730 crore) and inauguration of Indian Oil’s 60 TMTPA LPG bottling plant at Chittoor (Rs 200 crore), serving over 7.2 lakh customers across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

  • Defence Manufacturing: Dedication of Bharat Electronics Limited’s Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru, Krishna district (Rs 360 crore), aimed at producing advanced electro-optical systems for the Indian Defence Forces.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, these projects are expected to significantly boost industrial growth, regional connectivity, energy security, and employment in Andhra Pradesh while strengthening self-reliance in defence production.
