The nine-day traditional Rath Yatra festival of Melaghar will begin on July 15 at the Jagannath Bari premises in Melaghar. The festival is being jointly organised by the Sepahijala District Administration, the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, and the Melaghar Municipal Council.
The festival will continue until July 23, featuring various cultural programmes and religious activities. The inaugural ceremony will be held on July 15 at 4 PM and will be formally inaugurated by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha.
Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman will attend the event as the chief guest. Other dignitaries expected to be present include Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, MLA Bindu Debnath, Sepahijala District Magistrate Dr. Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police Vijay Debbarma, along with other distinguished guests.
The inaugural programme will be presided over by Melaghar Municipal Council Chairperson Anamika Ghosh Pal Roy. The organisers have made arrangements to ensure the successful conduct of the traditional festival, which attracts devotees and visitors from across the region every year.
