Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday reviewed the vacancy position of government vehicle drivers across 27 departments at a meeting held at Conference Hall No. 3 of the State Secretariat.
The meeting was convened to assess the status of vacant posts in accordance with the provisions of the Tripura Government Vehicles Drivers Services Rules, 1979. Senior officials from the concerned departments attended the meeting.
During the discussion, the minister examined department-wise vacancy details, the status of updated reservation rosters and other related issues in line with the prescribed service rules. He also provided necessary suggestions and instructions to the officials concerned following a review of the issues raised.
The exercise is aimed at determining the actual number of vacant driver posts and ensuring better coordination and efficiency in the functioning of government departments. It is also expected to support administrative planning and help maintain the smooth delivery of government services.
Chowdhury emphasised the importance of transparency, systematic review and effective administrative measures to ensure that decisions are taken in the larger public interest.
