A wave of shock and curiosity has gripped the locality after the body of a man suffering from an unknown illness was recovered from his residence. The deceased has been identified as Nityalal Pal, a resident of the Nakul Choumuhani adjoining area under the Kanchanmala locality of the Golaghati Assembly constituency.

According to local sources, Nityalal Pal had been suffering from an unidentified illness for a long time. 

He was recently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital. After his condition showed some improvement, he was brought back home. However, when no response was received from his house even after Friday morning passed into the afternoon, neighbors grew suspicious.

Despite repeated calls and knocks, there was no response from inside the house. It was noticed that both the main gate and the door were locked from the inside. The matter was immediately reported to Amtali Police Station. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the spot and, with the help of locals, broke open the gate and door to enter the house. Inside, they found the lifeless body of Nityalal Pal lying in an abandoned corner of a room.

Although initial speculation among locals pointed towards possible suicide, the exact cause of death remains unclear. Residents also stated that Nityalal Pal had been living alone in the area for the past three years. No one could provide information regarding the whereabouts of his family members or relatives.

The police have sent the body to Hapania Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. Officials stated that the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received. 

Efforts are also being made to trace the deceased’s family members or relatives so that the body can be handed over to them.

The incident has cast a pall of grief and intrigue over the area.
