A coordination meeting was held on Monday at the Conference Hall of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department with representatives of various media houses to ensure seamless coverage of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations at Assam Rifles Ground.

Presiding over the meeting, Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Bimbisar Bhattacharya, discussed the necessary arrangements and protocols for smooth media coverage during the main event.

He informed that, like every year, special passes would be issued to photojournalists and video-journalists from different media outlets for access to the venue.

To facilitate this, the Director requested that each media house submit the names of their nominated photojournalists and videojournalists, along with two passport-size photographs of each, to the department by August 10

He also requested the police officials present at the meeting to ensure that the passes are issued by August 12.

Deputy Director of the Department, Rajat Kanti Das, along with several photojournalists and videojournalists, also attended the meeting and actively participated in the discussion regarding logistics and media coordination.

The meeting concluded with a call for cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure dignified and hassle-free coverage of the Independence Day event.
