In a significant administrative overhaul, the Government of Tripura has issued orders for the transfer and posting of more than a dozen Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers across the state.
The reshuffle, carried out by the Governor in the "interest of public service," impacts key positions in district administration, municipal governance, and various state departments.
The changes, notified by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, involve officers being moved across sub-divisional magistrates’ posts, district collectorates, and state-run corporations. As part of the rotational postings, several officers have been appointed as new Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), who will also serve as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of their respective Municipal Councils. Apurba Krishna Chakraborty has been promoted from Additional SDM of Teliamura to the full SDM and CEO of Teliamura Municipal Council. Sanjib Chakma, previously the Joint Director of Information & Cultural Affairs, has been appointed as the SDM of Santirbazar, while Binki Saha has been recalled from her post as Joint Resident Commissioner in Guwahati to take over as SDM of Bishalgarh. Debjani Choudhury has been elevated from Additional SDM of Bishalgarh to SDM of Dharmanagar. The outgoing SDM of Santirbazar, Manoj Kumar Saha, will assume the role of Joint Director of Information & Cultural Affairs in Agartala, effectively swapping positions with Sanjib Chakma.
The reshuffle also affects administrative roles within district collectorates and state corporations. Dwij Goel, the former SDM of Ambassa, has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the District Magistrate & Collector of West Tripura, with Ringku Reang succeeding him as the new SDM and CEO of Ambassa Municipal Council. Subrata Kumar Dash, previously ADM & Collector (PP) of Dhalai District, has been appointed Joint Director of Industries and Commerce and OSD of TIDC Ltd., while also taking additional charge as Managing Director of the Tripura Tea Development Corporation Ltd. Partha Das will now take over his former position in Dhalai. Rakesh Chakraborty, formerly SDM of Bishalgarh, has been posted as Senior Deputy Magistrate in the District Magistrate’s office of Gomati District.
Additionally, the Tripura Bhavan in Guwahati will see a leadership change, with Homagni Bhattacharjee (TCS Gr-II) being transferred from the Dhalai District Collector’s office to assume the role of Deputy Resident Commissioner. The transfer orders state that all postings are effective immediately and will remain in force until further orders. Officers have been directed to hand over their charges to the new incumbents without delay.
