Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today underscored the pivotal role of the judiciary in nation-building, stressing that justice must be fair, fast, and affordable for all.

The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the newly established Court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge (Junior Division) at Mohanpur, a milestone he described as “a golden chapter in the history of Mohanpur.”

Highlighting the rapid progress witnessed by Mohanpur over the past three years, Dr. Saha said the establishment of the new court reflects the government’s commitment to strengthen judicial infrastructure across the state.

“With Mohanpur, we now have 16 sub-divisional courts along with 8 district courts. Our aim is to expand this model to all remaining sub-divisions, ensuring access to justice for every citizen,” he announced.

The Chief Minister also reminded the legal fraternity of its responsibility towards society.

“People approach courts in distress, expecting relief. Advocates and judges must work with dedication and preparation for the benefit of the people. A lack of preparation delays judgments and prolongs the suffering of litigants,” Dr. Saha said, urging advocates to uphold professionalism and efficiency.

He noted that with the availability of digital resources, the speed of justice delivery in Tripura has improved, which must be sustained.

Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of holistic development, Dr. Saha said,

“The judiciary is an integral part of the country’s progress. Guided by the principle of good governance, we are working towards building a Viksit Tripura. From economic growth and employment generation to women empowerment, every sector is showing visible progress. Even our GSDP has witnessed a significant rise.”

The Chief Minister assured full support from the state government to the judiciary in strengthening justice delivery mechanisms.
