Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today urged citizens to avoid parties that spread misinformation and instead support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as Tripura moves toward a “new era of development.” Speaking at an election rally for the TTAADC elections, Dr. Saha emphasized the need for unity and progress across the state.
Addressing supporters in Gandachhara of Dhalai district, the Chief Minister called upon individuals associated with Tipra Motha and other parties to reconsider their political alignment. “We all must work together to build a new Tripura,” he said, urging people not to follow those who give wrong messages.
The rally was held in support of BJP candidates Bhumikananda Reang from the 8 Ganganagar–Gandachhara constituency and Samir Ranjan Tripura from the 24 Raima Valley constituency. During the event, Dr. Saha highlighted the growing public trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that 710 voters from 251 families had joined the BJP at the rally.
“Our double-engine government is committed to the 2047 vision. Those involved in other parties, especially the youth, should not be misled. Join the BJP while there is still time,” Dr. Saha stated.
Dr. Saha also underlined the party’s development-focused agenda. “To create a new Tripura, we must ensure progress for all communities—including caste groups, tribes, the Manipuri minority—and strengthen infrastructure. BJP stands for development, while other parties are associated with unrest and disruption,” he said.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s unique connection with the public through initiatives like Mann Ki Baat, the Chief Minister added, “People want peace and progress. Let us distance ourselves from parties that create unrest and focus on inclusive growth.”
Criticizing past governments, Dr. Saha said, “During the UPA regime, corruption was widespread. In Tripura, the communist government ruled for 35 years without prioritizing tribal development, and even current ADC authorities have been involved in corruption. That is why we want the BJP to win more seats in the ADC.”
The rally also saw the presence of several party leaders, including former MP Rebati Tripura, BJP Janajati Morcha President Parimal Debbarma, Markfed Chairman Abhijit Deb, BAC Chairman Bikas Chakma, Dhalai District President Patiram Tripura, and Mandal President Dhanya Manikya Tripura.
