Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath today asserted that India’s Constitution and democracy are unparalleled in the world, crediting them for the nation’s unity and strength.

The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of a Mega Quiz Competition organised on the occasion of Har Ghar Tiranga at the Mohanpur Municipal Council premises. The event was jointly arranged by the Mohanpur Municipal Council and the youth of Mohanpur Assembly Constituency.

Highlighting the significance of the celebration, Nath said, “After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal, we are celebrating Har Ghar Tiranga with great enthusiasm. Today, we will also distribute the national flag among students.”

Calling the tricolour the “soul of the nation,” the Minister extended best wishes to the participating students. “Students are the future of the country. Some will become teachers, IPS and IAS officers, scientists, and professors. It is the students who will decide the direction of our nation. We must ensure transparency in every aspect of life,” he said.

Paying homage to freedom fighters such as Binay, Badal, Dinesh, Matangini Hazra, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Nath reminded the gathering of their sacrifices. “We have attained freedom, but we must protect it. Even today, our brave security forces guard the borders and sacrifice their lives so that we may sleep peacefully,” he remarked.

He cautioned that India’s sovereignty continues to face threats from certain hostile nations. “Our Constitution and democracy are so strong that they are unmatched anywhere in the world. Look at our neighbours — Bangladesh and Pakistan have faced military coups, and Sri Lanka is on the brink of collapse. But because of our strong democratic foundation, India remains united and powerful,” Nath concluded.
