Tripura Police apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian tout from separate locations for illegally entering Indian territory.
According to Rana Chatterjee, Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala, a Bangladeshi man named Sohag Mia, a resident of Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh, was detained today near the India-Bangladesh border in the Joypur area following a tip-off. “He was arrested for illegal entry, and a case will be registered against him,” the OC said.
In a separate incident, Tripura Police from the Jatrapur police station in Sepahijala district detained two Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian tout during a vehicle check. The vehicle was stopped at a Naka point, and upon searching, police arrested the individuals and recovered three mobile phones along with 1,810 Bangladeshi taka in cash.
The detainees were identified as Mohammad Yasin and Mohammad Hizbul, both residents of Barisal, Bangladesh, and Md. Mohiuddin, an Indian resident of Kali Krishnanagar under Jatrapur police station.
Police revealed that the Bangladeshi nationals had entered India with the help of the Indian tout to work as masons in Sonamura town. All four individuals are now in police custody as investigations continue.
