The Tripura Government on Monday ordered the suspension of classes in all Government, Government-aided, and Private schools in West Tripura and Sepahijala districts following heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.

According to an official communication the decision was taken in view of the continuous heavy rainfall in the two districts, which was expected to persist for the next two to three hours. The order stated that classes would remain suspended for the day in the interest of students' safety.

The Education Department directed the concerned authorities to issue the necessary orders immediately and ensure that all schools comply with the directive.

In a separate communication, the department informed all District Education Officers (DEOs) that the centralised examinations scheduled for Monday have been postponed due to the prevailing bad weather conditions. The DEOs have been instructed to take the necessary steps to inform schools and ensure smooth implementation of the decision.

The temporary closure of schools and postponement of examinations come as a precautionary measure amid continuous rainfall that has affected normal life in parts of the state.

The Education Department is expected to announce revised dates for the postponed centralised examinations at a later stage. Authorities have advised students, parents, and school managements to remain updated through official notifications regarding further  developments.
