Located in the heart of Tripura’s Dhalai District, Ganganagar Block is setting an example of effective governance and community-driven development. Recently awarded Rs 1.5 Crore under the Aspirational Blocks Programme, the block’s progress is not just about the financial support, but the tangible improvements it has brought to its residents, according to Niti Aayog.
Niti Aayog praised Ganganagar’s achievements on social media, noting that the block’s dedication has earned it the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, 2024.
This recognition, presented on Civil Services Day, highlights Ganganagar's exceptional performance in several crucial development sectors.
Among the block’s key successes, maternal health stands out with a 100% institutional delivery rate, ensuring safe births and quality healthcare for mothers and newborns. The block has also made impressive strides in public health, achieving a 100% success rate in tuberculosis (TB) treatment, reinforcing its commitment to eradicating TB and safeguarding residents' health.
Child malnutrition has seen a significant decline, with only 2.63% of children under five facing Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM). In agriculture, Ganganagar has empowered farmers by issuing 100% Soil Health Cards, enabling them to make informed decisions and boost agricultural productivity while promoting sustainable practices.
Niti Aayog praised the district and block officials, as well as the local community, for their collective efforts in making Ganganagar a model of effective governance.
