In a late-night operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended four individuals at Agartala Railway Station for allegedly possessing a large quantity of suspected narcotic cough syrup.
According to police sources, the incident took place around 9:00 PM on Platform No. 1, near the parking area of the station. RPF personnel grew suspicious after noticing four individuals loitering in the area.
Upon conducting a search, officers recovered a total of 217 bottles of suspected intoxicating cough syrup from their trolley bags and backpacks.
Authorities estimate the market value of the seized contraband to be approximately Rs 7 lakh.

Police stated that two of the accused are residents of Vaishali district in Bihar, while the other two are from Sonamura in Sepahijala district, Tripura.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Agartala GRPS Police Station. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to uncover any larger network or syndicate linked to the smuggling operation.
