In a show of solidarity for their loved ones, family members of Special Police Officers (SPOs) in Unakoti district submitted a deputation to the District Police Superintendent, raising various demands.
According to sources, the families presented a ten-point memorandum through District Police Superintendent Sudhambika R, which will be forwarded to the State Police Director General. Around 100 family members participated in the event, and a three-member representative team formally submitted the demands.
The representatives highlighted the urgent need for social and financial security for SPOs, who have been working under uncertain employment conditions for a long time. Key demands include regularization of employment, implementation of the National Pension System, provision of various allowances, and ensuring insurance benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, representative Reshmi Debbarma emphasized that immediate government intervention is required to secure the rightful entitlements of SPOs.
Families of the deputation hope that the administration will take the matter seriously and initiate necessary measures promptly.
