The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced by-elections to 56 Dharmanagar Assembly constituencies in Tripura which will be held on April 09.
According to the schedule released by the Commission, polling will be held on April 9. The official gazette notification for the by-elections will be issued on March 16. The last date for filing nominations has been set for March 23, while scrutiny of nominations will take place on March 24.
Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations until March 26. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 4, and the entire election process will be completed before May 6.
The by-elections are being conducted to fill vacant seats in various state legislative assemblies. Political parties and candidates are expected to begin preparations soon as the election process formally starts with the issuance of the gazette notification.
