West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar on Wednesday reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath at Jagannath Bari Temple in Agartala, one of the prominent Jagannath temples in the city.
The inspection was carried out by the District Magistrate along with West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak and Traffic SP Kanta Jangir. The team also visited ISKCON Agartala to assess the arrangements for the grand religious procession.
During the inspection, officials examined several key aspects, including the safety and height of the chariot, electricity arrangements, procession routes, security measures, traffic regulation plans, and emergency response facilities.
Addressing the media, Dr. Vishal Kumar stated that the overall preparations were found to be satisfactory. He said the temple authorities are extending full cooperation, while various government departments are working in coordination to ensure the Rath Yatra is conducted peacefully and successfully.
“Some minor issues were identified during the inspection, and necessary steps will be taken to address them by tonight. We are confident that the Rath Yatra will proceed smoothly, with all required facilities and safety measures in place for devotees,” the DM said.
The District Magistrate urged devotees and visitors to take part in the celebration with faith and enthusiasm while maintaining discipline and adhering to safety guidelines.
The district administration has assured that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure the safety, convenience, and smooth movement of devotees during the religious procession.
