The counting of 28 seats for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council Election has started from this morning in 17 locations amidst tight security.
Speaking about counting, State Election Commission official said that the counting has started at 8 Am this morning for all 28 seats of the TTAADC will be held on April 17 from 8 AM.
“We have made all preparations. Counting will stared at 8 AM with VVPAT slips, and after half an hour, EVM counting will commence. Counting will take place at around 17 locations. We have issued circulars and directions to the District Magistrates for imposing BNS 163, and the DMs have already implemented it,” he said.
Speaking about law and order, the official stated that proper security arrangements are in place.
The official further stated that a total of 173 candidates contetsed the election, including nominees from BJP, CPI(M), Congress, Tipra Motha, and IPFT.
He also informed that there are 9,62,547 registered voters who will cast their votes across 1,257 polling stations.
