Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today emphasized that the Tripura government is focused on improving the quality of the education system, with special attention to nurturing students’ moral values.

Speaking at the annual prize distribution ceremony of Shankaracharya Vidyaniketan Girls’ School on its foundation day, Dr. Saha urged teachers to go beyond textbooks and enrich students with moral knowledge.

“This day is a moment of joy not only for the students but also for teachers, parents, and everyone associated with education. Children should not only excel academically but also be physically fit and culturally aware, including an understanding of agriculture,” he said.

Dr. Saha highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance education quality in the state. Referring to the recent ‘Prabashi Tripura’ conference, he said, “Representatives from abroad and other states participated, showcasing the achievements of Tripura’s youth who are making a mark in various fields. Many expressed their desire to contribute to the state’s development. Such initiatives can help build a ‘Srestha Tripura’ through mutual support.”

The Chief Minister further stated that education is a pathway to social and economic empowerment. “A person with education and values commands respect. Education is endless, and with rapid changes happening every day, we must continuously update ourselves. Teachers should ensure students are morally and intellectually enriched,” he said.

Addressing youth, he said, “People aged 18 to 35 are a great force for the nation. These human resources are our children, and by empowering them, India can emerge as one of the world’s most powerful countries. Women constitute about 50% of our population, and our government is committed to their empowerment.”

Dr. Saha concluded, “Education is the bridge between ignorance and knowledge. Through education, we move from darkness to light. Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, and in line with this, we are working towards ‘Viksit Tripura 2047’.”
