Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday launched a strong attack on the Tipra Motha Party, accusing it of widespread corruption and mismanagement in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains committed to the development of the Janjati community.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing gatherings during a roadshow held across Bodhjangnagar-Wakhinagar, Simna-Tamakari, Jirania, and Mandainagar-Pulinpur in connection with the upcoming TTAADC elections.

Dr. Saha alleged that despite receiving substantial financial support at different times, the Tipra Motha-led council has failed to deliver meaningful development. He emphasized that BJP workers have been actively engaging with people in tribal areas for months, even before the official election announcement.

“We have been working on the ground from the very beginning. BJP has decided to contest all 28 seats independently because of the ongoing corruption and lack of transparency in the ADC. Despite being given opportunities by the people, the current administration has failed to serve them,” he said.

Highlighting the government’s financial contributions, Dr. Saha stated that ₹35 crore was allocated for a hospital, an additional ₹10 crore was provided outside the budget, and ₹30 crore was sanctioned for various projects. However, he claimed that little visible progress has been made.

He also mentioned his visits to local facilities, including smoke houses, where he observed poor and unsatisfactory conditions.

The Chief Minister added that the public has already experienced governance under previous administrations, including the CPI(M) and Congress, and is now aware of the differences.

“Only the BJP can ensure transparent governance. People have realized this, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains committed to the welfare and development of tribal communities,” he said.
