Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday criticized certain leaders of the Tipra Motha Party, alleging that the slogan ‘Thansa’ (Unity) is being misused by vested interests for personal benefit.
He claimed that the administration of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) is marked by mismanagement and corruption.
Addressing a public gathering organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party at Manubankul in South Tripura, Dr. Saha alleged that irregularities and “a reign of loot” are prevailing in the TTAADC area. He said the government possesses audit reports and detailed information regarding the functioning of the council.
Emphasizing his party’s commitment to tribal welfare, Dr. Saha stated that the BJP is dedicated to the genuine development and progress of tribal communities in the state. He asserted that meaningful development in the district council would only be possible if the BJP wins all 28 seats in the upcoming ADC elections.
Criticizing the ‘Thansa’ slogan raised by Tipra Motha leaders, he alleged that it is being used to mislead people and create confusion for personal gains. According to him, no substantial development work is taking place under the present council administration.
Appealing to voters, Dr. Saha urged the public to place their trust in the BJP and ensure the party’s victory in all 28 seats to bring about what he described as real development and welfare in the TTAADC. He added that such progress would be possible with people’s faith in the BJP and in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
