Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today said that clubs should come forward along with the government in the fight against drugs, as clubs or social organizations play an important role for people from all sections.
“Responding to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Har Ghar Tiranga program should be made successful. And it should be ensured that blood is always available in blood banks as per the demand,” said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating the voluntary Har Ghar Tiranga blood donation camp and Sishu Utsav organized by Shivnagar Modern Club and Amara Tarun Dal Club in Agartala today.
At the event, Dr. Saha said that clubs or such social organizations are very important for everyone.
“This builds relationships among people. This club has become a center of trust for children, youth, and senior citizens of the area. Not limited to just performing puja, this club also undertakes various social works at different times of the year. People from all parts of the area gather here and think about the development of society. Discussions are also held to maintain the development and peace of the area,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that earlier there were various problems in the club, but now there has been a transition from the previous club culture.
“The government is taking necessary steps against drugs. The police and other security agencies are taking appropriate measures. Along with this, clubs and social organizations should stand by the government and come forward against drugs. Clubs also have a big role to play in this. The government will always be by the side of those who come forward for such work. It is very necessary to speak out against those involved in drugs. People associated with clubs should come forward to eradicate drugs from the grassroots level,” said Dr. Saha.
The Chief Minister said that two years ago today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to everyone to hoist the Har Ghar Tiranga, that is, the national flag in every house, in view of the Independence Day celebrations.
“We have hoisted the tricolor before. This program has been continued at the government level. Along with this, various clubs and organizations have also come forward for such programs,” said Dr. Saha.
The Chief Minister said the Prime Minister is talking about Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
“Har Ghar Tiranga is a part of this. Today, as part of this program, I am visiting a few houses. Everyone is very enthusiastic about this patriotic initiative. This program is being conducted in all parts of the state in three phases. The Har Ghar Tiranga program is being implemented as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” he said.
Dr. Saha also said that today a blood donation camp has been organized by this club.
“Blood is something that cannot be bought from the market. There is no alternative to it. It should be ensured that blood is always stored in blood banks,” said Dr. Saha.
Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Corporator Sukhmoy Saha, club officials, and other prominent persons were present at the event as distinguished guests.
