In a significant political interaction, senior leaders of the BJP and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) held discussions at the BJP’s state headquarters in Krishnanagar, Agartala, on Wednesday, with emphasis on strengthening coordination and political cooperation between the alliance partners.

The IPFT delegation was headed by party president and former minister Prem Kumar Reang, accompanied by general secretary Swapan Debbarma and other members of the party’s central executive committee.

The meeting was attended by BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B. L. Santhosh, Tripura BJP president Abhishek Debroy, state in-charge Dr. Rajdeep Roy, and Assam and Tripura in-charge Ravindra Raju.

Sources said the leaders exchanged views on various political and organisational matters and discussed ways to further improve coordination between the two parties. The talks also highlighted the importance of working collectively towards the socio-economic development of Tripura.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to maintaining cooperation and ensuring that the political partnership contributes to the state’s overall progress and prosperity.

The meeting comes at a time when political parties in Tripura are gearing up for upcoming electoral and organisational challenges, making closer coordination between alliance partners particularly important.
