The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday hit out at the Congress for launching what it termed as a “nationwide propaganda campaign” ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference at the state BJP office, party spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya said that the people will give a “befitting reply” to the Congress in the coming days.

He accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of making “baseless and wrong comments” against the central leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, are panicking. The way they have been doing politics for years is no longer working, which is why they are resorting to propaganda before the public,” Bhattacharya said.

The BJP leader further condemned alleged remarks made by Rahul Gandhi and RJD leaders about the late mother of Prime Minister Modi.

“Ideological differences within political parties are acceptable, but making ugly and personal comments about someone’s late mother is not right. Rahul Gandhi and RJD leaders should apologize,” he demanded.
