BJP reviews organisational preparedness ahead of Village Committee polls

The Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday convened an organisational meeting in Agartala to review the party’s preparedness for the upcoming Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), besides discussing other forthcoming elections.

The meeting, held at Muktadhara Auditorium, was attended by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, ministers, MLAs, MDCs, district and mandal presidents, state office-bearers, senior leaders and other party functionaries.

Speaking after the meeting, Chief Minister Manik Saha said the discussions primarily focused on organisational preparedness for the Village Committee elections.

“An organisational meeting was held today in view of the upcoming Village Committee elections. Workers from different parts of the state participated in the meeting, along with the concerned MLAs,” Saha said.

He said the meeting reviewed various aspects of election-related organisational work, including the steps that need to be taken and those that should be avoided during the electoral process. Party leaders also issued necessary directions to workers and office-bearers regarding the preparations.

BJP Tripura State President Abhishek Debroy said the meeting also covered preparations for the upcoming by-election and other elections, besides deliberations on strengthening the party organisation.

“Discussions were held regarding the by-election. Our NDA alliance has been formed, and we discussed the upcoming elections as well as ways to reorganise and further strengthen the organisation,” Debroy said.

He said mandal and district-level leaders, MLAs, ministers, state office-bearers and senior party leaders participated in the meeting in the presence of the Chief Minister.

The meeting was held as political parties intensify their organisational activities ahead of the Village Committee elections under the TTAADC.

Among those present were Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Speaker and MLA Rampada Jamatia, former MP Rebati Tripura and former Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik.
