Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today emphasised that the Tripura BJP is deeply committed to the development and welfare of the Janajati community, underlining the party’s ongoing efforts to reach every section of society.
Dr. Saha made these remarks while chairing an organisational meeting of the BJP Janajati Morcha at the Pradesh BJP office. The meeting brought together party leaders and activists from across the state to discuss strategies for better engagement with the Janajati community.
“The purpose of this meeting was to identify the challenges faced by the Janajati community and to explore practical ways in which the government and our party can work together to address these issues,” said Dr. Saha.
"This is about strengthening our connection with the people, understanding their needs, and ensuring that development reaches every corner of their society.”
He highlighted that the welfare of the Janajati community has been a key priority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Tripura has been actively implementing programmes aligned with this vision since 2014. “Our focus is on inclusive growth and empowering the Janajatis through education, employment, healthcare, and infrastructure development,” he added.
Dr. Saha also clarified that while elections are approaching, the meeting was primarily about governance and service delivery, not electoral strategy. “Our commitment is to the people, and all initiatives are aimed at improving their quality of life,” he said.
The meeting was attended by BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharya, Tripura-Assam General Secretary (Organisation) Ravindra Raju, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Janajati Morcha President Parimal Debbarma, and other karyakartas from district and mandal levels.
