Bangladeshi National, Indian Tout Detained in Tripura

Tripura Police personnel from Sonamura Police Station detained one Bangladeshi national and an Indian tout from the Durgapur area under Sepahijala district late last night.

According to police sources, the detainees have been identified as:

  1. Easin Arafat (19), son of Lt. Masuk Miah, a resident of Songrise under Kotwali Police Station in Comilla district, Bangladesh.

  2. Abul Khyear (45), a resident of Durgapur, Ward No. 02, under Sonamura Police Station in Sepahijala district, Tripura.

Police said a case has been registered against the accused under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, and the BNS Act, 2023. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances of illegal entry and the involvement of the tout in facilitating cross-border movement.

Officials stated that necessary legal procedures are being followed, and more details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
