An innovative activity titled Bal Parliament was successfully organized at the Amarpur Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) under Gomati District as part of the PRI–CBO Project initiative of Aajeevika – National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 60 students who actively engaged in a mock parliamentary session designed to introduce them to the functioning of a democratic system. The activity provided a practical platform for students to learn about leadership, responsibility, and the importance of informed decision-making.
During the Bal Parliament session, participants discussed various social and developmental issues shared their opinions, and practiced the process of debate, discussion, and collective decision-making, similar to the functioning of a real parliament. The initiative aimed to build awareness among children about democratic values, civic participation, and good governance from an early age.
The event proved to be interactive, educational, and inspiring for all participants. It encouraged students to express their ideas confidently and helped them understand the importance of being responsible and active citizens in society.
The programme stands as a meaningful initiative under the PRI–CBO Project, reflecting the continued efforts of Aajeevika – NRLM to promote community engagement, leadership development, and awareness among young minds in rural areas.
