A special review meeting was held at the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) conference hall today to ensure that this year’s Durga Puja celebrations are conducted peacefully and without inconvenience to citizens.
The meeting was chaired by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, with Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, several corporators, and senior officials of the corporation in attendance.
Discussions centered on the city’s preparedness, public services, and security measures with a special focus on Druga Puja.
Mayor Majumdar assured that necessary steps have already been taken to minimize any disruption during the festivities. He highlighted that drain repair work across the city has been completed as far as possible in preparation for the festival.
The Mayor also informed that workers have been instructed to keep the roads clean and tidy, while the corporation has put special monitoring in place for lighting, drinking water supply, and garbage removal.
“We are working in close coordination with the state government to ensure that Sharadotsav is celebrated peacefully,” he said.
The meeting further stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness in every ward, controlling mosquitoes, and addressing other public health concerns. Expressing confidence, Mayor Majumdar said that with the combined efforts of the administration and active participation of citizens, this year’s Sharadotsav will be celebrated in a smooth and joyful atmosphere.
