Continuous heavy rainfall has severely disrupted traffic movement along the Agartala–Khowai National Highway, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded and commuters facing significant hardship.

Several stretches of the highway have become waterlogged and muddy, making normal vehicular movement nearly impossible. In response to the worsening situation, local authorities have deployed dredging equipment to assist vehicles in crossing the most affected sections.

According to reports, large potholes have developed at multiple points along the road. These have become increasingly dangerous due to accumulated rainwater, posing serious risks to both small and heavy vehicles. As a result, trucks carrying goods and passenger vehicles have been forced to halt for extended periods.

Since early morning, long queues of vehicles have formed on both ends of the highway. Hundreds of vehicles remain stranded, causing widespread inconvenience. Passengers have expressed frustration after being stuck on the road for hours without relief.

Officials are continuing efforts to restore normal traffic conditions, but ongoing rainfall is making the task challenging.
