The state government’s continuous efforts to upgrade healthcare facilities have taken another step forward, as the Super Specialty Block of Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital introduced trials of a new advanced endoscopy machine.
The CV-190 model, launched yesterday (September 18), promises to significantly improve patient diagnosis and treatment. Unlike the older CV-150 and CV-170 machines, this latest technology offers high-quality imaging, processes advanced endoscopic visuals, and easily identifies diagnostic features.
One of its key strengths is the ability to distinguish between blood vessels, mucus, and membranes, thereby providing accurate reports and enabling quicker diagnosis.
On the first day of its use, 14 patients underwent upper endoscopy and two patients underwent colonoscopy using the new system.
With a market value of over Rs 5 lakh, the CV-190 is regarded as a high-quality diagnostic tool. It is notable that only five such machines are currently available across hospitals in the North Eastern region, and GBP Hospital has now joined this select list.
Officials believe the new addition will greatly benefit patients in Tripura by ensuring faster and more precise medical interventions in the coming days.
