The Sonamura police recovered 60 kg of dry ganja during a patrol at Bathadola area near the Indo-Bangla border fence in Sepahijala district on Wednesday.
Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das said the contraband, wrapped in cellotape, was found abandoned. Police seized the ganja after completing all legal formalities and registered it as unclaimed property.
An investigation is underway to identify those involved in trafficking the seized narcotics. The market value of the contraband is estimated at around Rs 6 lakh.
