The three-day Neermahal Water Festival, one of Tripura’s most awaited cultural events, will be held from September 12 to 14 at Rajghat Mukta Mancha, Melaghar of Sepahijala District.

Organized jointly by the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation, Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Sepahijala District Administration, and Melaghar Municipal Council, the festival will feature a series of competitions and cultural programmes.

On September 12 and 13, a state-level Manasamangal competition will take place from 2 pm, while on September 14, a sub-division-level group yoga competition will be held at 10 am. The same day will also see a state-level swimming competition at Rudrasagar Lake from 12 noon, followed by the much-anticipated boat race at 2 pm.

Every evening, cultural programmes showcasing Tripura’s rich artistic traditions will add colour and vibrancy to the celebrations.

The Neermahal Water Festival is celebrated annually to promote tourism around the iconic ‘Water Palace’—Neermahal—while also highlighting Tripura’s cultural heritage.
