Trapa Choudhury, a 14-year-old Class VIII student from St. Paul’s School, Agartala, has achieved international recognition by being selected to participate in the II Russian-Indian Youth Forum 2026, commenced on June 16 at the Russian House in New Delhi.
The event has discussion on sustainable development, climate change mitigation, cultural connections, and world peace where Trapa set to engage in sessions on Environment, Climate Action & Sustainability, covering areas such as climate awareness, ecological responsibility, sustainable practices, arts, interfaith dialogue, and Indigenous Knowledge.
The forum has brought together over 250 participants from India and Russia, including young leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, students, professionals, and agents of social change. It aims to foster dialogue, collaboration, and cultural exchange between the youth of the two nations.
Jointly organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India, Russian House, and India's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, along with other key partners, the two-day event includes expert discussions, team-building activities, networking sessions, cultural programs, and field visits. Participants will also contribute to a joint declaration promoting enhanced youth cooperation and global understanding.
She holds titles such as Global Child Peace Ambassador, Child Climate Ambassador, and Child Ambassador for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With participation in over 250 events at state, national, and international levels, her efforts have been widely recognized, including by the India Book of Records.
The Russian-Indian Youth Forum 2026 not only aims to deepen bilateral ties between the two nations but also seeks to inspire youth engagement in global partnerships and sustainable initiatives.
Regional officials have hailed Trapa's inclusion as a testament to Tripura's emerging role in global youth-led programs. Trapa's achievements have positioned her as a prominent youth leader in Tripura, and her accomplishments reflect the growing international presence of young talents from Northeast India.
