A woman’s body was recovered from Durgapur under Khowai district of Tripura, prompting police to launch an investigation into the incident.
According to Tripura Police, information about the recovery of a female body was received at around 1 pm to 1.30 pm on Friday. Acting on the information, police personnel, including the case officer and senior officials, visited the spot and initiated an investigation.
The deceased was identified as Monika Debnath, wife of Laxman Pal. Following the preliminary investigation at the scene, the body was brought to the district hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
Police said the investigation is currently underway and further details will be shared as the probe progresses. The exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are yet to be established.
