Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Monday appealed to voters across the state to participate in the ongoing Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) without fear, pressure or hesitation.
With polling underway, the Chief Minister urged voters to come out of their homes, reach their respective polling stations and exercise their franchise freely.
“Do not delay. Come out of your homes, go to your polling station and cast your vote without any apprehension,” Dr. Saha said, appealing to voters to ensure that the election process remains peaceful.
The Chief Minister said he had spoken with the Director General of Police in Charge and was assured that adequate security arrangements had been put in place to ensure peaceful polling across the state.
“Voting should take place in a festive atmosphere,” he said, urging citizens to participate in the democratic process with confidence and responsibility.
Dr. Saha also stressed that every voter should be free to make an independent choice and should not face pressure from any political party or individual.
“I will not say that everyone should vote for our party. Vote wherever you think it is right to vote according to your own choice,” he said.
Describing voting as both a constitutional right and a civic responsibility, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of the Village Committee elections for grassroots governance and local development in areas under the TTAADC.
He said elected representatives would have an important role in highlighting local issues and addressing development-related concerns at the grassroots level.
Dr. Saha appealed to voters to turn out in large numbers and help maintain a peaceful, free and fear-free polling environment across Tripura.
