Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday said that there was no connection between the CPI(M) and the concept of freedom, and that expecting freedom from the party would only amount to a waste of time.
Deb made the remarks while participating in a programme to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 138th episode of Mann Ki Baat at a Gram Panchayat office under Booth No. 9 of the Majlishpur Assembly constituency. He listened to the programme along with party workers and supporters.
Speaking after the programme, Deb said, “There is no relationship between freedom and the CPI(M). Expecting freedom from the CPI(M) means wasting time.” He added that whenever he sees CPI(M) leaders, he prefers to approach them with a white rose.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee also participated in a Mann Ki Baat listening programme organised by the Banamalipur Mandal.
The programme was held at Booth No. 26 under Ward No. 24, where Bhattacharjee listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address along with party workers and supporters. Mandal president Arindam Chowdhury, East Zone chairperson of the Agartala Municipal Corporation Sukhmay Saha and other party leaders were also present.
Speaking after the programme, Bhattacharjee said Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the people of the country through Mann Ki Baat on the last Sunday of every month and highlights various issues and developments before the public.
He said that in Sunday’s episode, the Prime Minister spoke about the observance of Ganesh Chaturthi in Thailand and also highlighted the importance and uses of amla.
