Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to strengthening higher education and institutional growth in the Northeast during a productive meeting with Ahmed Javed, Chancellor of Tripura University.
The discussion focused on enhancing academic excellence, expanding institutional capacity, and creating greater opportunities for research and innovation across the region. Emphasising the importance of the university, Pradhan described Tripura University as one of the Northeast’s premier central institutions, playing a vital role in advancing quality education, research, innovation, and human resource development.
He noted that the university’s continued progress would significantly contribute to the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” — the national mission aimed at transforming India into a developed and inclusive nation through educational and socio-economic advancement.
The meeting also highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and ensure wider academic and research opportunities for students throughout the Northeast region.
