Sudhangshu Das, Minister of the Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD), on Wednesday urged the administration to implement stricter measures to curb cattle slaughter in different parts of Tripura.
In a Facebook post, Minister Das appealed to authorities to take stronger action to stop cow slaughter across the state.
He further said that in Hindu society, the cow is regarded not merely as an animal but is considered sacred and worthy of reverence.
“In Hinduism, the cow is honored as ‘Gau-Mata’ or mother, based on deep-rooted religious beliefs and traditions. Therefore, we should all come together to ensure the protection of Gau-Mata,” he added.
