Representatives of the Tripura Senior Citizens and Pensioners Association and the Jute Mill Employees' Manch (BMS) have urged the Tripura Jute Mill management to expedite the settlement of long-pending financial dues and benefits owed to serving employees and retired workers.
The representatives recently submitted a deputation to the mill's Managing Director, Binay Bhushan Das, seeking the proper assessment and timely disbursement of all outstanding payments and financial entitlements.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted several unresolved issues, including unpaid salaries, interest on outstanding dues, leave encashment and Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) benefits. They stressed that the claims of both current employees and retirees should be addressed without further delay.
The representatives also called upon the management to safeguard the legitimate rights of workers and pensioners and ensure that all eligible dues are cleared in accordance with the relevant court directions.
The delegation included Ranjit De, president of the Jute Mill Employees' Association; Adhir Bhowmik, general secretary; Amitabha Das, secretary of the Jute Mill Employees' Manch; Jaykumar Das, secretary of the Jute Mill branch; and Swapan Mandal, president, along with other representatives.
Expressing concern over the prolonged delay in settling their financial claims, the delegation members said workers and retired employees have continued to face difficulties due to the non-payment of their rightful benefits. They called for concrete steps from the mill authorities to resolve the outstanding issues and provide relief to those awaiting their dues.
The representatives expressed hope that the management would give due priority to the matter and initiate necessary measures to ensure the early settlement of all pending financial claims.
