Tripura Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das on Tuesday directed officials to ensure the timely completion of ongoing works and the effective execution of approved projects to accelerate the overall development of the state's fisheries sector.

Speaking after chairing the second Board Meeting of the Tripura Fisheries Development Board at the State Secretariat, Das said the meeting focused on reviewing the progress of various programmes and developmental initiatives undertaken by the department.

During the discussion, the minister emphasized the importance of adhering to project timelines and ensuring efficient implementation of sanctioned schemes to strengthen the fisheries sector across Tripura.

He also instructed all stakeholders concerned to closely monitor the execution of projects and work towards achieving the intended objectives without delays.

The meeting was attended by members of the Board, including senior officials such as the Secretary and Director of the Fisheries Department, along with representatives from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Fisheries College, Lembucherra, Tripura University, and NABARD.
