A high-level 18-member delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), comprising exclusively Janajati leaders, will visit Asaram Bari in Khowai district tomorrow to inquire into the recent violent attack on party workers and to meet the victims.

The visit comes in the wake of a brutal assault on BJP Karyakartas during a Mann Ki Baat programme held last Sunday in Asaram Bari.

At least seven BJP workers were reportedly injured in the attack, which the party has alleged was carried out by miscreants backed by the Tipra Motha Party.

According to BJP sources, the delegation includes senior leaders such as former MP Rebati Tripura, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, BJP Janajati Morcha president Parimal Debbarma, and Pradesh BJP Secretary Devid Debbarma. Other members of the team are MLA Mailafru Mog, MDC Padma Lochan Tripura, Upendra Debbarma, MLAs Ram Pada Jamatia and Pramod Reang, Swapan Reang, Samrat Jamatia, Bimal Chakma, Sanjay Das, Bhumika Nanda Reang, Bidyut Debbarma, Namita Debbarma, and Sanjib Reang.

The team will assess the ground situation, interact with the victims and their families, and prepare a report for the party’s state leadership.

The BJP has strongly condemned the attack, demanding strict action against the culprits and urging the administration to ensure peace and security in the region.
