A significant spiritual and cultural event is set to take place in Tripura with the Prana Pratishtha and Kumbha Abhishekam ceremony of the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple scheduled to be held on April 21 at Fakira Mura, Mohanpur. The occasion coincides with the auspicious celebration of Aadi Shankaracharya Jayanti.
According to Amit Rakshit, Trustee of the Tripura-based Chinmaya Seva Trust and President of Chinmaya Mission International, the ceremony is expected to be attended by several eminent dignitaries. These include RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Their presence is anticipated to enhance the spiritual and cultural importance of the event.
Rakshit highlighted that the temple, dedicated to Maa Tripura Sundari, stands as a unique blend of devotion and architectural brilliance. The structure is built with 27 grand black stone pillars brought from Tamil Nadu, each symbolically representing one of the 27 Nakshatras in Hindu astrology. Notably, the temple has been designed without a traditional roof, signifying an open and uninterrupted spiritual connection with the divine.
At the sanctum sanctorum, a 15-foot black stone idol of Maa Tripura Sundari has been installed, accompanied by a smaller sacred idol inspired by the revered Mata Bari temple, intended for daily worship rituals. The temple complex also features intricate inscriptions and carvings depicting Devi Soundarya Lahari and various stuti texts, further enriching its spiritual essence.
A distinctive highlight of the ceremony will be the distribution of Nakshatra-based prasad, prepared using sacred Bel leaves, symbolizing cosmic harmony and divine blessings.
In addition, the trust has announced its commitment to social welfare initiatives, including providing free value-based education to underprivileged children from more than 10,000 families.
To ensure the sanctity and authenticity of the rituals, experienced priests from Nepal have been specially selected through a rigorous process to conduct the ceremonies.
