Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today announced that the ambitious infrastructural revamp of the revered Mata Tripureshwari Temple in Udaipur is nearing completion.
He added that Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has formally requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the renovated temple premises.
Speaking to reporters after chairing the 39th Board of Directors' meeting of the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation, Chowdhury emphasized that the state's tourism infrastructure is witnessing a historic transformation.
“The infrastructural projects aimed at enhancing Tripura’s tourism landscape are progressing swiftly and are expected to be completed within the next two years. This is in line with the joint vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha,” he said.
Highlighting the state’s untapped tourism potential, Chowdhury stated, “Tripura has immense natural, spiritual, and cultural tourism prospects. We are undertaking a series of dynamic projects to boost footfall and revenue generation in the state.”
The Minister informed that a significant Rs 350 crore is being pumped into the sector with assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and under the Swadesh Darshan scheme.
A detailed review of financial allocations and additional resource requirements was also conducted during the meeting.
